What is Regcure?
Regcure is a software tool used for scanning the Windows registry. There are many tools available to complete this action- Regcure is just one of them.
The Windows registry contains vast amounts of information about your PC. From information such as hardware and software settings; driver details of printers; and general PC settings through to information about what applications to run when you double-click an icon (eg. open Paint Shop Pro when you double-click a PSD file).
With such a vast amount of stored information being constantly updated every time you change anything, it is likely that things will go wrong from time to time. The usual cause of registry issues are installing and un-installing applications and changing Windows preferences and settings. Often registry entries get left hanging around when they are no longer needed and this can lead to performance degradation.
Performance degradation is much more common on the Windows 95 and 98 platforms than with the XP and Vista line of operating systems. Having said that, however, any un-necessary or corrupt data within your Windows registry has the potential to slow down your PC processing speed. An example of this are the short timeouts Windows PC’s have when there appears to be no activity on the PC but the user is unable to do anything.
Regcure, and many other applications like it, are designed to scan the registry for errors and empty registry entries. When the registry repair applications find the problem entries, they can be cleaned up automatically.
To increase overall PC performance and stop intermittent timeouts it is prudent to do a registry scan of your Windows PC.
